Over 70 people have been killed and hundreds more left injured after massive explosions occurred at an industrial warehouse site located in the Port of Tianjin, China.  According to reports, the warehouse was used for storing dangerous and chemical goods.

As of now, officials aren’t 100 percent certain what caused the explosions, though it’s reported that firefighter crews were battling flames at the facility prior to the explosions occurring.  There is speculation that water may have come in contact with calcium carbide, resulting in a chemical reaction that creating extremely explosive, acetylene.

Officials have evacuated the surrounding area due to possible chemical contamination.
